As a Principal at W3 Global Accounting, David provides accounting, auditing, and tax and business advisory services to closely held businesses in various industries. He is heavily involved with tax compliance reviews and tax planning for his clients. He also enjoys the practice development aspects of his role at W3 and ensuring client satisfaction. His most notable example of his client-first mentality is surviving a train/car crash and returning to work the next day!
Prior to opening his own accounting practice in January of 1996, he was affiliated with Touche Ross & Co. and its predecessor, J.K. Lasser & Co., for over six years, and was a partner in a local firm for twelve years. He recently merged his firm with W3 Global Accounting, LLC. David has experience in auditing, business consulting, tax research and compliance, and personal financial planning. He specializes in working with closely held corporations in the medical, service, wholesale distribution, retail, construction, and non-profit industries.
David is a graduate of the University of Akron with a B.S. degree in accounting. He graduated from St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron where he participated on the wrestling team.
David is a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He was previously a board member and treasurer of the Akron Jaycees, the Akron Jaycees Foundation, the YMCA Endowment Foundation, The 1 in 6 Foundation, and Portage Country Club.
David is currently a director (in his 40th year on the board) of the Akron Zoological Park where he is a past treasurer and board chairman, president of the Lehner Family Foundation, a local private foundation, president of Bluecoats, Inc., which serves first responders in Summit County, a member of the Akron Community Foundation Professional Advisors Council, and he serves on the finance council of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Akron. David and his wife Nancy previously co-chaired Summer Safari at the Akron Zoo. David is currently co-chair of the Akron Zoo committee, Reaching New Heights, to raise 11 million dollars for capital projects and other zoo programs.
David is a graduate of the 1990-1991 class of Leadership Akron. He is a member of Bluecoats, Rotary Club of Akron, Leadership Akron Alumni Association, Portage Country Club, Hill’n Dale Club, and Towpath Racquet Club.
David lives in Akron with his wife Nancy. They have one daughter and three grandsons. He enjoys spending his free time with his family and playing tennis, pickleball, golf, and shooting sporting clays. They are parishioners of St. Sebastian Church and St. Anthony Catholic Church in Akron.
