Benjamin Merle

Accounting Associate

Education & Professional Designations

I am a current Sophomore at the University of Akron studying Accounting with a minor in Finance. In the future I plan to pursue my CPA with either a Master of Taxation or a Master of Science in Accounting under the Accelerated program at the University of Akron.

Memberships & Community Involvement

On campus, I am involved in both Investment Club and Akron Water Polo Club. Investing has become a passion of mine ever since I started, as I believe it’s crucial to prepare for the future by taking action in the present. In addition, swimming has always been an important part of my life; I’ve competed around seven years, and Water Polo provides me with the opportunity to continue that passion in college. Both activities allow me to engage with my interests, develop valuable skills, and connect with people on campus.

About Benjamin

As an Accounting Associate, my focus is to help clients navigate the complexities of tax forms by organizing and preparing them in a clear and efficient way. During this process, I make sure that both my colleagues and clients understand the steps we are taking to minimize tax liabilities and maximize potential deductions. My goal is to ensure the process is straightforward and transparent, so clients feel confident and informed every step of the way. In addition, my goal is to feel approachable so that clients feel comfortable asking questions and addressing their concerns.

I enjoy accounting because it allows me to show my passion for communication and problem-solving in a field that constantly presents new challenges and opportunities for growth. Ever since I got my first job as a lifeguard, I’ve been drawn to roles with a sense of purpose and fulfillment. However, I often found myself running out of things to do. With accounting, I found a dynamic workload that keeps me engaged and ensures there’s always something to learn about or work on. The variety of tasks, from solving complex financial puzzles to assisting clients with their tax needs, keeps me constantly learning and keeps my brain active. Accounting provides a continuous challenge while also allowing me to socially communicate with clients and team members.

Hobbies and Personal Interests

Some of my hobbies and personal interests include swimming (as mentioned earlier), playing board games, my love for animals, reading, and spending quality time with friends and family.
This is my Dog Walle, He’s a golden retriever that was named after his eyebrows which rise like the movie character Wall-e and he’s a runner with himself trying (unsuccessfully) to run away a few times since we got him. We’re not sure exactly how old he is because we got him from a family friend but we’re guessing he’s around 3 to 4 years old.
